Night Shift, 6 pm-6 am, on a 2,2,3 schedule. Applicants must have a MN State 1st Class B High Pressure Boilers License or have a 2nd Class B High Pressure with the ability to obtain MN 1st Class B within 6 months of hire date. Pay range is between $30-$34 per hour.

First District Association is a dairy cooperative that manufactures wholesome dairy products from high quality milk supplied from our family farms located throughout Minnesota.

The Boiler Operator’s main duty is to monitor the heating, cooling, compression, and water systems within the plant and do routine checks, record logs, chemistry tests and add chemicals to various systems. Operators will assist Maintenance with repairs as needed but will typically not do major repairs on their own. A current MN State 1st Class B High Pressure Boilers License is required or possess a 2nd Class B High Pressure License with the ability to obtain a MN 1st Class B High Pressure License within six months from date of hire.

Essential Functions: Monitor and maintain the facility high pressure boiler systems. Support the site by ensuring the safe and proper operation of boilers. Maintain boiler efficiency by adjusting, reading, and interpreting gauges, indicators and steam flow meters Maintain logs, data sheets, and all necessary paperwork related to boiler operations Perform corrective and preventative maintenance type work on boiler systems. Perform and make adjustments or repairs to the boilers. Possess the ability to interpret technical manuals. Perform all required lab-oriented chemistry tests, regulatory tests and inspections. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws Prepares boilers and related equipment for state and insurance inspections. Ability to work well independently while reporting any boiler operational abnormalities or safety issues to management. Maintain cleaning and organization of the boiler room. Assist the maintenance operation as needed. Committed to providing a safe food product. Works within all regulatory requirements. Ability to adhere to GMP practices and all other food safety requirements. Must comply with all OSHA standards. Perform all other related duties per management direction.

Job Requirement: Must have a current MN State 1st Class Boilers license, high-pressure or MN State 2nd Class Boilers License with the ability to obtain MN 1st Class B High Pressure License within 6 months from date of hire. Must be able to calculate various measurements using basic math skills. Computer and administrative skills. Previous PM systems experience preferred. Knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety guidelines. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. High School diploma or equivalent. Must have a MN State Class D Water Operator license or ability to obtain. Familiar with close-looped ammonia refrigeration systems a plus. The boiler system requires 24-hour coverage and boiler operators will be on call per the schedule.
