Lead Groundskeeper

Under the supervision of the Foreman in the Public Works Department, the Lead Groundskeeper performs a variety of maintenance tasks while acting as leader to a crew of semi-skilled employees. This position is responsible for the supervision of crew while participating in work projects with fellow crew members, and for the preparation of daily work schedules and work procedures and for the assignment of personnel within the crew. Acts as crew leader. Determines equipment and material necessary for assigned tasks, and determines when maintenance equipment is in need of servicing. Oversees efficiency, production, safety, and work habits of crew members.

High school diploma or equivalent required plus a minimum of one (1) year of related experience and a valid Florida driver’s license are required.

Pay range: $18.91 to $30.25 per hour. Starting rate dependent upon qualifications. Excellent benefits.
